The meaning of pumpkin pie
I’m actually not such a big fan of the pumpkin pie, but I like what it represents: delicious food for the sake of delicious food. I don’t know anyone silly enough to think pumpkin pie is good for anything but your soul. I’m not advocating for the most toxic shit ever as an obnoxious response to the health nuts out there – this is not about pitting the turducken against the wheatgrass shooter in the cage match of the century. This is a blog about the food I make which I like to imagine is generally healthy but which never compromises on flavour – because I believe, without one shred of scientific evidence to back me up, that if you enjoy your food immensely you’re much more likely to reap whatever nutritional benefits it holds.
Also, I made a resolution for 2010 that I would try at least 50 new recipes this year and 1) I’ve already broken all my other pitiful resolutions and 2) I’ll lose track if I don’t do this with a list on the interwebs.
You should know: While I am not a health food devotee, I am vegan and all the recipes here will conform to that. But if you’re reading this and you’re omni don’t be scaert – there will never, ever be any wheatgrass here ever! While I won’t make it fight your turducken, I like it as little as you do.
